I’m sitting at Starbucks right now and there is a guy across from me who is wearing fleece M&M pajamas and I am debating whether or not to tell him that I also once had fleece M&M pajamas that I thought were the coolest thing in existence (they still are). If I can remember correctly, I got them at a swim meet and then wore them at every sleepover I attended that year. Just wanted to share that little tidbit because when do I ever talk about what I’m supposed to be talking about on here? Today I’m sharing my 2015 reading list with you, and hopefully you can pick up some knowledge about books that are out there in the universe right now.
This is an assorted collection of books that have grabbed my attention as of recently. I’m actually reading The Bane Chronicles right now but I wanted to include it in this list anyways if I don’t finish it before the new year as it is a staggering 528 pages long. (Quick review: Magnus Bane is the warlock of both The Mortal Instruments series as well as The Infernal Devices series, and this is his spin-off. I’m enjoying it, but it’s definitely not as world-shattering as Mortal Instruments or Infernal Devices. Read those first if you haven’t. But Magnus Bane is such a vibrant character and this collection of short stories is exactly that.)
ANYWAYS. THE LIST:
- The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton
- Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley
- The Martian by Andy Weir
- Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
- A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
- The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
- The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kid
- Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler and Maira Kalman
- Landline by Rainbow Rowell
- All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
- The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
- Redeployment by Phil Klay
- Calling Me Home by Julie Kibler
- The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, and Sarah Rees Brennan
- The Andy Cohen Diaries by Andy Cohen
Have you read any of these? Or are there any particular books that are on your reading list for next year? Lemme know!
I just finished reading Defending Jacob by William Landay and Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight and would highly suggest both! I actually found them by searching for “books similar to Gone Girl.” They both have really interesting characters and storylines, with totally unforeseeable twist endings.
Ooooh great suggestions! I have heard so much about both of those, but have yet to pick them up. Glad to hear they are good!
